The new Mac Pro features the latest Quad Core Intel Xeon processors, faster front side bus and faster memory providing up to 2x the performance of the previous standard config.

The Mac Pro include the all-new graphics options from ATI and NVIDIA which bring high performance graphics to the Mac Pro line, as standard the Mac Pro will ship with the ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT w 256MB and optional cards are the NVIDIA GeForce 8800GT w 512MB and the ultra high end NVIDIA Quadro FX 5600 w 1.5GB.

Mac Pro has expansion capabilities that Professionals demand with up to 4TB of storage, optional RAID card, SAS (Serial Attached SCSI) drives and up to 32GB of fully buffered memory.

The Xserve features the advanced Intel Xeon Architecture provides the latest generation Quad-core intel Xeon 5400-series "Hapertown" processors up to 3.0Ghz. For the first time Xserve can be configured with 8-cores using either the Dual 2.8GHz or Dual 3.0GHz Intel Xeon processors through CTO.

To complement the Xeon processors the system architecture has also been updated with each processor have a dedicated 1600MHz frontside bus, a faster 800MHZ Memory system. Xserve features a new 1TB Apple Drive Module storage option increased the internal storage of Xserve to a whopping 3TB. To meet customer demand the Firewire port which was on the front of the Xserve has been replaced by a USB 2.0 port to allow connection of a huge array of devices. A SuperDrive has now been added to the Xserve as standard. All this power is packed into a 1U rack mount server.
