Technical AV Sales Specialist

The Role

Trams | Econocom is seeking a Technical AV/Media Sales Specialist to join their 'Gather' AV team in London. This will be a mixed role across our sales, engineering, and consultancy team; also assisting other departments where required. The candidate will be an experienced individual with in-depth technical experience selling audio-visual professional services, specifically audio-visual consultancy, software development and AV integration services.

The technical sales consultant should have a proven track record of hitting sales targets and have good technical knowledge within AV system design, and preferably some good knowledge of new build and retrofit installation works.

The Technical Sales Consultant will report to the AV Sales Manager and provide sales, technical solution design, engineering, and Business development management services throughout the company. Project Management experience would be a bonus.

Candidates will be required to assist with engineering across the business including on-site visits across London and throughout UK&I.

Requirements for the role:

  • Generating leads - Expand the current client base within assigned territories.
  • Research and make recommendations for new products/services.
  • Developing and nurturing relationships with key customer accounts
  • Keeping up with the latest industry developments, including market positioning of corporate competitors
  • Following up with new leads, and referrals, attending exhibitions/trade shows representing the Company.
  • Develop the company’s relationships with key suppliers in the Corporate, Media & Entertainment and DooH AV markets.
  • Demonstrate good knowledge of the Corporate AV markets for AV consultancies.
  • Establishing the technical needs of the customer and suggesting appropriate products.
  • Compiling proposals (SoW), quotes, invoices, and reports related to technical products/services.
  • Ensuring that sales targets are consistently met.
  • Design and review system designs, schematics, manuals, wiring diagrams and other specifications to determine design and installation procedures.
  • Assist with any project management tasks where required.
  • Create specialised designs to include site and floor plans, Bill of Materials, control, audio and video signal runs, scope of works, and device schematics.
  • Assist other departments with technical support issues if needed.
  • Ability to revise and update technical CAD drawings using AutoCAD and/or Visio.
  • Identifying opportunities across assigned AV markets for companies’ products and services

    Qualifications

    • 3+ Years of sales experience within the Audio-Visual sector or related industry
    • 2+ years of AV commissioning or similar installation experience
    • 2+ years of AV system design experience
    • Existing client base and ability to hit sales targets
    • Strong communication and organisational skills
    • Excellent presenting skills and IT fluency
    • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
    • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • The ability to work towards targets and develop pipelines
    • Commercially savvy with strong financial acumen
    • A go-getter with drive, determination, and resilience
    • Full UK driving license.
    • Practical experience in installing AV products and solutions.
    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science or Engineering is preferred

    Job Type: Full-Time
    Salary: £30-35k (depending on experience and proven track record) & Commission (OTE approx £60k+ uncapped)
