London, UK - August 2017

Trams Ltd, the largest B2B Apple Authorised Reseller in the UK, and the leading Quantum StorNext storage integrator in EMEA, has reached an agreement with the Directors of NMR Consultancy Ltd, to acquire the media technology solutions specialist, for an undisclosed fee.

The acquisition provides Trams and its clients with industry-leading experts in broadcast, post-production, Media Asset Management (MAM), workflow automation and cloud technologies.

NMR will benefit from Trams’ greater scale, strong financial base, market penetration, best-of-breed storage consultants, bespoke Cloud Mac Management and its massive client base across M&E, Corporate and Education sectors.

Working collaboratively, the sales and technical teams in both organisations will be able to provide clients with innovative value-added professional services, such as custom software development and advanced technology solutions, from Apple Mac Management in the cloud to emerging Machine Learning and Computer Vision technologies for Media Asset Management and workflow automation.

For NMR’s clients, suppliers, staff and Directors, including CEO Neil Anderson, CTO Alex Jennings and COO Alex Buchanan, it will be business as usual, with the team reporting to Trams Directors, CEO Warren Peel and CFO Alex Page. NMR’s founder Jason Thomson, will leave the business with immediate effect.

From 1st August NMR Consultancy Ltd will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Trams Ltd, operating from its current location near Kings Cross, Central London.

Commenting on the acquisition, NMR’s CEO, Neil Anderson revealed “We’ve been in a Joint Venture with Trams for the last year or two, working on Media Asset Management opportunities together, plus Warren and I have known each other for years. We realised there were a lot of synergies between both our companies, with very little overlap, so when the opportunity to become part of Trams came up, it immediately felt like the right strategy, especially as we’re looking to invest further in our US operations, continue product development of the ITV Phoenix Campaign Management system and complete our EU funded Machine Learning based ReCAP project, by next summer.

Warren Peel, CEO of Trams simply said

“Like Victor Kiam once said - and to paraphrase - I love NMR so much I bought the company . In all seriousness, this is a great result for both organisations. We now possess the combined ability to be able to deliver off the shelf and bespoke IT solutions , with a particular emphasis on media & storage workflows and content management, to a wide range of our existing & new customers alike. Trams has an unbridled desire to expand into new markets both in the UK and in the US, and with this acquisition we are absolutely well positioned to achieve those goals . We are incredibly excited to be welcoming the NMR team to the Trams family, and extending the success of both companies. I’ve heard other companies in our sector say they are “magical” ? Well, to coin another phrase - “you ain’t seen nothin’ yet ”
